Odisha: people will be paid on returning empty milk pouches

From October onwards the people of Odisha will be paid on returning OMFED (Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation) plastic containers and empty milk packets. The government would issue a public notice by the end of August in this regard. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik had already issued directives to ban the use of plastic and polythene containers in state from 2nd October.

A high level meeting was held in this regard at State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar to discuss the rules to be implemented for plastic ban in Odisha. After the meeting Additional chief secretary, Forest and Environment, S C Mohapatra told media "People will be paid on returning the OMFED packets and plastic bottles".
