Pashu Sandesh, 05th June 2018

Ongoing Farmers strike in the country has hit the Jaipur Dairy in the Rajasthan. The daily collection of Milk which is around 10lakh Liters per day has fallen down to 4 Lakh Liters. This acute shortage has forced Jaipur Dairy to suspend its popular “Gold Brand” high fat milk, which it sells by the name of Saras. Many residents of the Jaipur city have even complaint about the hoarding of the Saras milk by the shop owners.

As the nation- wide strike has entered 5th day, many more farmers are expected to join from the Jaipur region which could further make the situation worse for the Jaipur Dairy. Farmers across the state stopped milk tankers of different diary cooperatives. The officials at dairy said, while there was enough supply of milk for Monday, the situation can become complex if the agitation continues. “More villagers are joining the protest. At many new pockets farmers refused to give daily supply of milk to the federations”, said official.

Due to its high fat content Gold Brand milk is used in making various value added milk products, such as Curd and Butter milk the supply of which could be adversely affected if the Farmers stir continued or intensified.
