Government of India has constituted “Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog” for Conservation, Development and Security of Indigenous breeds of Cows. The Aims, Objectives and Vision are much grander and efforts will be on Scientific lines. The Resolution documents regarding Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog (RKA) and appointment of its members are enclosed herewith.
The first Chairman of RKA, Dr Vallabhbhai Kathiria (a renowned Cancer Surgeon and Ex-MP from Rajkot and Ex Union Minister) has travelled extensively in most of the Veterinary Universities, Scientific organizations, Industries and Gaushala working on Indigenous Cows across India and formulated various Action Plans for Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog that are helpful for various sections of the society especially youth, women and rural population. Since the formation, RKA has taken major initiatives for the betterment of the society including resolving the Issue of Stray Cattle and generate Income from Non-Milking Cows. RKA recently launched the campaign of “Gomaya Ganesh” before Ganesh Chaturthi where more than 1 Lac 10 thousand eco-friendly Ganesha idol made from Cow Dung were manufactured and distributed across India encouraging Youth and Women entrepreneurship.
After the success of Gomaya Ganesh campaign, RKA has planned to come up with “Kamdhenu Deepawali” campaign which will be of much bigger reach. One of the major focus of RKA is on ‘Cow Entrepreneurship' and ’Cow based startups’.
To explore more on the Cow Based economy, a webinar for Media Persons has been organised by RKA which will be addressed by Dr Vallabh Kathiria on September 8, 2020 (Tuesday), followed by questions answer session.
