Last Chance to update mobile numbers before VCI elections

Pashu Sandesh, 04 July 2020

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GOI has issued an advisory on 03 July for the Mobile Number updation of the members for the upcoming Veterinary Council of India (VCI) Elections. The Voting in the elections for the first time would be through e-Voting, hence the need for the updation of the mobile numbers to ramp up the database of the registered VCI members.

Those Registered Veterinary Practitioners who have not updated their mobile number or has changed their mobile numbers can visit the Department of Animal Husbandry website www.dahd.nic.in to get details of the format and mail the same to vci-helpdesk@dahd.nic.in before 15th of July.

The VCI prepared the Electoral roll including the name, mobile numbers of every person whose name is entered in the IVPR after the notification in rule 3 of IVC Rules 1985. Despite systematically following the rules, the office of Returning Officer, VCI election 2020 has received numerous representations from Registered Veterinary Practitioners throughout the country regarding the non-availability/updation of mobile numbers in the electoral roll. Since the participation of all the electors is most important the Returning Officer has decided to grant a chance to the electors whose name is available in the electoral roll to update their mobile numbers to ensure that no voter is left behind from casting vote in this first time e-Voting of VCI elections the country.

Again remember, the last date for updating the mobile numbers is 15th July 2020.
