Dr. Rameshwar Singh appointed as the first VC of Bihar Veterinary University

Bihar government on 12th June issued a notification appointing Dr. Rameshwar Singh as the first Vice Chancellor of the Bihar Veterinary University. Dr. Rameshwar Singh recently retired from the post of Project Director (DKMA) ICAR New Delhi.

Dr. Rameshwar Singh is a postgraduate from National Dairy Research Institute Karnal in Dairy Microbiology. After completing his postgraduation, Dr. Singh joined ICAR and got his first posting at the prestigious IVRI. While in service he completed his Ph.D. mainly concentrating his research on Animal Nutrition and Microbiology. After completing 17 years of service at IVRI, Dr. Singh was posted to NDRI Karnal where he collaborated on various research along with ICMR and various other similar organizations in the field of microbiology. Since 2012 he was given the charge of project director (DKMA) ICAR New Delhi.

Earlier Dr. Anil Kumar Shrivastav Director NDRI was appointed as the first VC of Bihar Veterinary University. A gazette notification was issued by Bihar government in this regard on 29th December 2016, but citing some personal reasons Dr. Shrivastav didn’t assume the charge of VC Bihar Veterinary University.
