A tripartite MoU was signed between NDDB, the Government of Manipur, and the Manipur Milk Union in the presence of Chief Minister of Manipur, N.Biren Singh and Minister for Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Transport, Manipur, Khashim Vashum. The MoU was signed by Dr Meenesh C Shah, Chairman & MD, NDDB; Michael Achom, Secretary, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Department; and P. Sovachandra, Member of the Board of Administrators, Manipur Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd. Under this MoU, NDDB will manage the operations of Manipur Milk Union, including milk procurement, processing, and marketing.
Highlighting the role the dairy sector can play towards rural development in the state, the Chief Minister mentioned that the NDDB’s professional management of the Milk Union will streamline operations and play a crucial role in dairy development through cooperative strategies. He thanked NDDB for its support in clearing pending payments of farmer members of the dairy cooperative, upgrading dairy processing infrastructure, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting rural households in Manipur.
Dr Shah, in his address, underscored the pivotal role of rural sector development in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat. He added that this landmark agreement in the dairy sector is a step towards realizing the vision of #SahakarSeSamriddhi, with the collective efforts of NDDB, the state, and the central government to bring about White Revolution 2.0, expanding and strengthening dairy cooperatives coverage across the country to ensure their lasting impact on the rural economy.
Dr Shah stated that NDDB has already extended support to dairy development of Manipur by providing Rs. 3 crores as a grant, with the first cheque handed over to the Milk Union by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, to support milk procurement operations and strengthen milk processing infrastructure of the Milk Union. He further reiterated that, under this MoU, NDDB will provide necessary technical and manpower support for which no charges/fees will be charged.
NDDB reaffirms its commitment to supporting dairy development, ensuring quality milk and milk products for consumers, and maximizing returns for dairy farmers of the state, ultimately bringing prosperity to rural households.

Khogendrajit Singh, and other dignitaries.
