Jeev Aashraya, one of India’s pioneering animal welfare organizations, has released its Annual Report for 2024-2025, highlighting a remarkable service expansion. Despite operating with limited resources, the organization continues to deliver exceptional animal welfare services, earning widespread recognition among animal lovers and residents of Lucknow.
Established in 2011, Jeev Aashraya is a non-profit organization dedicated to animal rescue, rehabilitation, and medical care in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Driven by the vision of “Pashu-Seva” (Animal Service), the organization has emerged as one of the largest and most active animal welfare NGOs in Uttar Pradesh. Over the past 15 years, more than 141,536 animals have been rescued and rehabilitated under its care.
At the core of its mission, Jeev Aashraya aims to strengthen the human-animal bond by providing comprehensive healthcare, medical treatment, and rehabilitation for homeless and abandoned animals. The organization envisions a compassionate society where animals live with dignity and security, fostering a more profound sense of love and respect between humans and animals.
Jeev Aashraya operates several impactful programs to promote animal welfare and create a more inclusive environment for all living beings. Mangal Pashu Bhandara - A weekly initiative dedicated to feeding stray animals, Mangal Pashu Bhandara is organized every Tuesday across different locations in Lucknow. Through this program, Jeev Aashraya provides nutritious meals to cows, monkeys, goats, dogs, and other animals, ensuring their well-being.
Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination & Medical Camps: Launched in April 2024, these weekly medical camps offer free anti-rabies vaccinations, medical checkups, and treatment for stray and pet animals. Conducted every Sunday at Jeev Aashraya Hospital, these camps are led by qualified veterinarians dedicated to improving animal health and safety.
Key Achievements (2024-2025) are multi-dimensional and make it the perfect animal welfare shelter in Lucknow city. Despite numerous challenges, Jeev Aashraya has achieved significant milestones in animal welfare during the past year.
The various milestones send landmarks achieved viz. Rescued and rehabilitated over 141,536 animals, Conducted 51 Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination & Medical Camps, Provided medical care to 150+ animals every Sunday and Organized Mangal Pashu Bhandara every Tuesday, feeding countless stray animals. The organisation has established the Jeev Aashraya Hospital, Jeev Aashraya Gudauli Gaushala (for rescued cattle) and Jeev Aashraya Dog Shelter (Shwan Nagar).
Despite its commendable impact, Jeev Aashraya faces several challenges, including limited financial resources, manpower shortages, and inadequate medical supplies. However, the organization remains steadfast in its commitment, relying on community support, donations, and dedicated volunteers. Jeev Aashraya follows the principles of the compassionate world where every animal receives the love and care they deserve.
