First national ophthalmology meet

Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Madras Veterinary College Chennai is organizing a one day national ophthalmology meet on the “Diagnostic protocols and its current perspectives in Veterinary Ophthalmology” on 14th July 2017.  This is the first national ophthalmology meet of its kind and will impart technical knowhow in the diagnostic protocols in the veterinary ophthalmology. Meet is followed by a Free animal eye camp on 15th July. Interested participants can send their application form through email to hodvsrmvc@tanuvas.org on or before 10th July 2017. Total number of seats for the meet is limited to 50 and will be allotted as first come first serve basis. The fee for the participation is INR 11500 which includes free animal eye camp and INR 2300 for the postgraduate students.

The ophthalmology unit of the Madras Veterinary College serves as referral center for all the states of the country and also neighboring countries. A total of more than 200 major surgeries and 400 minor surgeries are performed every year. Major surgeries mostly include cataract surgeries in variety of animals.
