Rs 1180 crores allocated for NAIP Phase- IV

The agenda of implementation of the Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme phase- IV was discussed in the meeting of the national steering committee(NSC) held on 29th June 2022 in New Delhi. After a detailed discussion, NSC approved the implementation of NAIP phase- IV from 1st August 2022 to 31 May 2023 with a budgetary allocation of Rs 1180.23 crores. NAIP Phase- IV will cover 3 crore, bovine females.

Allocation of the budget under different heads is as follows-

Rs 417.98 crore (@ Rs 40 per dose) was allocated for the cost of semen including its transportation and storage.  

Rs 260.22 crore was allocated for Incentives to private AI technicians (@RS 50 per AI).

Rs 302.88 crore was allocated as an Incentive to all AI technicians for achieving conception. (@RS 200 at 1ST  AI and Rs 100 at 2nd AI).

Rs 151.29 crore was allocated for Incentive to private AI technicians on the birth of a calf (@Rs 100 per calf).

Rs 9.20 crore is provided for the salary of the data entry operator.

Rs 23 crore contingency grant @ Rs 5 lakh per district for publicity, logistics and consumables.

Rs 1.56 crore for parentage testing @10 calves per district @Rs 3400 per calf.
