CLFMA celebrates golden jubilee

Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) celebrated its golden jubilee on 15th September at Mumbai. Celebration was attended by the Central Government minister for Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis among other dignitaries from the association and industry.

In his inaugural address Radha Mohan Singh emphasized that in order to double the income of farmers by 2022; they should take up livestock farming. He also said that farmers need to enter in fields like horticulture, fisheries, fruit bearing plants, trees and livestock farming, which can easily multiply farmer’s income.

Welcome address was given by Dr P G Phalke, convener CLFMA golden jubilee celebrations and Chairman address was delivered by Mr B Soundarajan.Keynote address was delivered by the Chief Minister of Maharshtra Devendra Fadnavis. On this occasion past chairman was felicitated and the CLFMA awards were given.

Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association of India (CLFMA) was established in the year 1967 with 233 members and is the representative of the entire livestock, poultry and aquaculture industry in India. This sector contributes 4% to the total GDP of the country and contributes 27% to the agriculture GDP. The poultry sector is an important driver of ensuring protein security for the common man. It also provides livelihood to 2 crore small and marginal farmers.
