Kerala Animal Husbandry Department helping farmers with free cattle feed

Devastating floods in Kerala has gravely affected the Dairy farmers who are facing huge loss of productivity due to shortage of Livestock and fodder. At this moment of crisis, Kerala Animal Husbandry Department has come to the rescue of the farmers. Department has decided to provide 100 bags of cattle feed and 700 kg of mineral mixture to each of the selected worst affected Dairy farmer.

The project, named 'Snehasparsham' ('Touch of Love'), was inaugurated by the Kerala Feeds' Managing Director B Sreekumar at a function in the Kalpetta which was one of the worst affected hill region. At the function at the cooperative bank Sreekumar handed over the Feed and Mineral mix to five farmers.

The selected farmers were identified by the state dairy development department. Kerala Feeds Snehasparsham project is being carried out in seven districts.

Earlier to help out the farmers the Kerala Feed had sold cattle feed at 100 Rs discount.
