Milk production increased by 51percent during the last eight years

Answering an unstarred question in Loksabha THE MINISTER FOR FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING PARSHOTTAM RUPALA informed the house that, according to production data from the Food and Agriculture Organization Corporate Statistical Database(FAOSTAT), India is the highest milk producer i.e., the rank first position in the world contributing twenty-four per cent of global milk production in the year 2021-22.
The milk production of India has registered a fifty-one per cent increase during the last eight years i.e., during the years 2014-15 and 2021-22 and increased to twenty-two crore tonne in the year 2021-22.
The details of milk production (in Million Tonnes) during the last eight years of India is as follows-
2014-15 -  146.31
2015-16 -  155.49
2016-17 -  165.40
2017-18 -  176.35
2018-19 -  187.75
2019-20 -  198.44
2020-21 -  209.96
2021-22 -  221.06
