Punjab Govt Launched hi tech Cold Van for Veterinary Biologicals

To strengthen the safe transportation of veterinary vaccines and biological products across the state, Animal Husbandry Minister of Punjab Gurmeet Singh Khuddian on Tuesday flagged off a dual-mode refrigerated cold van at the Punjab Veterinary Vaccine Institute (PVVI) in Ludhiana . This initiative will ensure an uninterrupted cold chain and improve the effectiveness of livestock vaccination campaigns.
The vehicle's refrigeration unit operates on both the vehicle's engine and an external power source, guaranteeing continuous cold-chain maintenance. This new cold van  has a capacity to transport 4.5 lakh doses of vaccine at a time with maintain a temperature between 2°C and 8°C, ensuring that vaccines retain their quality and effectiveness while being transported from the PVVI in Ludhiana to districts across Punjab.
