His Excellency the Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari conferred very prestigious award "Acharya Chanakya -2020" upon Jayantilal Shah, Managing Trustee of a National Award-winning NGO "Samast Mahajan" and a Member of the Animal Welfare Board of India(AWBI) today at Raj Bhavan Mumbai wherein former Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Ram Naik and other personalities were present. Girish Jayantilal Shah is a renowned social worker and animal welfare scholar has dedicated his life for the saving of thousands of suffering animals from natural calamities and running many schemes to save the homeless animals by the arrangement of feed -fodder, water and health care services. His work for plantation and water conservation have been outstanding.
Girish Jayantilal Shah is a businessman professionally, but he begins his daily routine with social activities. He has chosen medium to connect himself the common man, animal and environment is a voluntary organization called "Samast Mahajan". Samast Mahajan is dedicated for kindness and compassion for man and animal by protecting the environment, ecosystem, traditional system of rural development and promoting cow protection, conservation and preservation activities. Due to his dynamic leadership and guidance, Samast Mahajan doing Commendable work in various states like Gujarat and Rajasthan. The outstanding services in the State of Maharashtra have been recognized by government for water conservation. For Environmental Protection and plantation, his organisation is the recipient of National Award - "Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra Award in the year 2005.
For outstanding contribution in the area of water harvest water conservation, the "Pani Foundation" has conferred "Satyamev Jayate Water Cup Award (2016)" and "Jeeva Ratna Award (2012)" for commendable work in the area of animal kindness - compassion and animal welfare. In view of the remarkable services in selfless service various for man and animals, the Central Government appointed him as a Member of the Animal Welfare Board of India functioning under the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries. The basic mantra of his life is to rejuvenate the traditional farming system through the development of Goshala and Pinjarapole in the country.
This event was organized by the prestigious and very popular international fortnightly "Chanakya Dialogue" of Mumbai. The "Chanakya Dialogue" has brought out any special issue on " Developmental Achievement of Maharashtra and Challenges Ahead". On this occasion, many Members and trustees Samast Mahajan including Devendra Jain were present.
